An atmosphere of cooperation is encouraged throughout the school. Positive motivation and attention redirection are our most effective methods of discipline. On occasion, it also involves quiet counseling, out of hearing distance from other children, followed by a brief "time out". The Meadowlands Montessori school offers child education services to all persons, regardless of race, sex, ethnic group or national origin. As a parent who has entrusted his/her child to the staff of the school, you are welcome to visit the school at any time. Evacuation exercises are routinely conducted. Children soon become accustomed to this mandatory safety precaution. Information regarding procedures during severe weather, fire and other emergencies is posed in the school. Parents will be notified by phone as to the protection of their children in case of an emergency that would force us to leave the school. We will follow the schedule for Henry County Schools WGST 640 AM or go to the Henry County Schools Emergency Information page for details regarding closings. All committees are designed to assist the school in accomplishing certain functions that it would not be able to accomplish without the help of parents. We try to structure these committees so that no one is terribly over committed and is able to handle their particular function. We always ask that each family sign up for two committees. If at anytime these duties become a burden, please contact us so we can try to alleviate the situation. |
